SPEAKER
Michiel van Deursen is a former tech entrepreneur behind the largest classifieds internet platform in Belgium, as well as an Amsterdam-based internet agency and a tech incubator. Michiel now invests solely in plant-based businesses. His passion for healthy living began while training for an Ironman triathlon, when he learned not only what a plant-based diet can do for personal fitness but also of the wider positive impact on the planet. He was an early investor of The Vegetarian Butcher in the Netherlands, experiencing the massive growth of the plant-based food sector first-hand.

The meetup will be hosted by vegan restaurant and brewery Oproer. During the event Oproer will serve a two-course meal + amuse for € 20.

Jeroen Willemsen will deliver the keynote talk during this v-entrepreneurs meetup. Jeroen is the Green Protein Commissioner of the Netherlands and the founder of Ojah and Green Protein Alliance. Ojah is a market leading pioneer of plantbased meat alternatives. After Jeroen’s story several startups are offered the opportunity to pitch their company to the audience.

As a starter you’ll be served a delicious gazpacho soup. For the main course you can choose between a Japanse Noodle Bowl or the Creamy Curry.

During the third event of V-Entrepreneurs in the Netherlands, we will discuss the developments of plant based and clean meat.

You have the chance to meet two industry thought leaders who will share their story:

– Ira van Eelen: Ira is a designer with a demonstrated history of working in event design, marketing and think tanks industry. Her legacy as the daughter of Willem van Eelen and 40 years of Clean/Cultured/JUST/InVitro Meat history makes her a speaker that lets you embrace the potential and understand the urgency of this innovation.

– Mark Kulsdom: Mark is the co-founder of the Dutch Weed Burger and board member of the Green Protein Alliance. The Dutch Weed Burger is an Amsterdam based company that specializes in seaweed enriched comfort food.

In deze meetup zullen inspirerende sprekers je wegwijs maken in het starten en groeien van je vegan bedrijf. In een avond waar veganisme en ondernemerschap centraal staan doe je praktische ondernemerslessen op, hoor je nuttige ervaringen en leer je over winnende strategieen van andere start-ups. DE SPREKERS

Introductie door Willem Blom. Willem is digitaal ondernemer en investeerder in vegan bedrijven.

Spreker 1: De start-up ervaringen van kersverse ondernemer Stephan Stegeman, oprichter van het online vegan warenhuis Shop Like You Give a Damn. Hij vertelt over hoe hij vier maanden na de lancering van het warenhuis door gesprekken met potentiële investeerders ging twijfelen over zijn businessmodel en begin dit jaar besloot om het roer om te gooien.

Spreker 2: Vergroten kans van slagen van je startup door Arnaldo Berndsen. Arnaldo is oprichter van OndernemingsplanHulp Nederland en heeft de afgelopen jaren enkele honderden bedrijfsinitiatieven voorbij zien komen. In zijn talk gaat Arnaldo samen met het publiek uitvinden wat jij kan doen om de kans van slagen van je bedrijfsidee zo groot mogelijk te maken. Hij maakt daarvoor gebruik van de cases uit het publiek en ervaringen uit de praktijk.

Spreker 3: Theresa Jentzsch, oprichter van het vegan tassenmerk OSIER, deelt haar ervaringen over het oprichten van haar startup naast een full-time baan. Ze vertelt over het soms ‘not so glamourous’ leven als nieuwe ondernemer en hoe het met veel hard werken maar ook leuke uitdagingen en ervaringen komt.

DE LOCATIE

De meetup wordt gehost bij Oproer Utrecht, brouwerij en plantbased restaurant. Geniet vooraf van een heerlijk, plantaardige maaltijd bij Oproer. Speciaal voor V-Entrepreneurs biedt Oproer een 2-gangen menu aan voor 20 euro.

Deze meetup is in het Nederlands. Mochten er meerdere niet-Nederlandssprekenden aanwezig zijn, dan switchen we naar het Engels.

This is the first event of the v-entrepreneurs network in the Netherlands!

Ever dreamt of your own food startup? Or are you already producing v-ice, chocolate, v-cheese, v-sausage, v-yogurt etc. and now you want to grow your business? Do you ask yourself how others managed to get their idea off the ground? And do you wonder what business models exists for food startups?
Great, this meetup is for you!

You have the chance to meet two experienced entrepreneurs who will share their story:
– Jack Bean: Fastfood that is better for you and the planet, by Mathijs Huis in ‘t Veld (founder Jack Bean)
– Lovechock: Producer of the first Dutch organic raw chocolate bar sold in 22 countries, by Fran Rosario (Chief Happiness Director at Lovechock)

We will provide drinks and snacks. Dinner is not included but we invite you to enjoy a delicious, plant-based meal at Jack Bean before.

Keynote talks
The keynote speaker has a 15 minutes timeslot, with 5 minutes afterwards for questions. At the meetup you will gain first-hand and practical knowledge about food startups and their business models.
